our conversation begins.
Start with what the text has to achieve, not the word count. Tell me about the project, the audience it is for, and what should be true once it has been read. I will reply with an honest assessment — including whether I am the right person for it.
- Response time
- Within one business day. If I cannot take the project, I will say so in the same reply and, where I can, recommend someone better suited to your project.
- Confidentiality
- Anything you send is treated as confidential from the first message. I sign NDAs before receiving files, and I would rather you describe the document than attach it if there is any doubt.
- No obligation
- An initial conversation is simply that: a conversation. You are not asking for a quote by writing to me, and I will not follow up repeatedly if you decide otherwise.

If you already have Spanish material and want to know whether it is doing its job, send it. An honest read of existing translation is often the most useful first conversation.
